The SunIce gondola

SunIce wanted to buy an old metal gondola and wrap it in their branding. We suggested building one ourselves: bigger, sturdier and made exactly to the festival’s wishes. It has been at every edition since SunIce St. Moritz 2025.
About the project
The idea
An eye-catcher that no other festival has, and a useful one. In winter in St. Moritz the gondola becomes a fondue gondola where we serve fondue. In summer it stands on the beach in Ascona as a mini stage for DJs.
The challenge
The gondola is more complex than it looks. It needs power, music and lighting, it has to be watertight and soundproofed, it must seat eight people and still be easy to operate. And it has to be transportable.
The chalet vibe
Inside, we charred the wood. Together with warm, dimmable light it creates the mood of a mountain hut in the middle of the festival.
Setup and operation
The gondola arrives in one piece and is set down with a forklift. We offer running it, for example the fondue service, as an option.
