The illuminated “SunIce” lettering

Since SunIce Ascona 2025 this lettering has welcomed guests, by day and by night. It is six metres long, made of wood and acrylic glass and stands on its own plinth.
About the project
The brief
As with the “S”, the inspiration came from SunIce and the execution, in our own style, from us. The result is lettering that glows and can stand outside in any weather.
The challenge
Six metres is long, especially on the way to the festival. So we built the lettering in modules: it splits in the middle and the two halves slot into each other. That makes a compact three-metre transport box that keeps the letters safe.
Setup and lighting
At the festival our build crew assembles the lettering. The lights connect to the lighting desk via DMX or run on a simple remote control.
