The mirrored SunIce “S”

For SunIce Festival in St. Moritz we built a three-metre “S” in spring 2025, mirrored and with an outline that glows in any colour. It has been at every edition in St. Moritz and Ascona since.
About the project
The brief
SunIce gave us some inspiration and we added our own style. Two things were fixed: the “S” had to reflect, and its outline had to glow.
The challenge
The biggest challenge was the size. A three-by-three-metre “S” made of wood weighs about 300 kilos, so it splits in the middle for easy transport. We built everything ourselves, from the structure to the lighting.
Setup and show
The “S” arrives at the festival by truck. Our build crew assembles it and puts it up. During the shows the festival’s lighting technician controls the outline via DMX. At St. Moritz 2026 it hung on the main stage, surrounded by LED tubes.
